Ascension Biography

Ascension are a metal band from all over Louth in Ireland. We formed late last year and have been creating heavy ass music ever since. We have played all over Dundalk,Dublin and Drogheda in such places as the Spirit Store and the A.O.H. and we have also played in the new improved McHughs in Drogheda and the great Temple Bar Music Centre. There is alot of history in the band and we have been through various guitarists, drummers and singers until we eventually found what we feel is the right line-up, hopefully you will feel the same!!! We are constantly writing new material and perfecting old stuff aswell. We recently recorded our demo and are looking to be signed, all the stuff on the demo is our own so please leave some feedback, thanks

Our influences come from Metallica,Slipknot,Pantera,Arch Enemy,Iron Maiden,Dream Theater,Cradle of Filth and various other bands, even though we probably don't sound like any of them, but thats the music that set us upon writing heavy ass metal!!!

A lot of people tell us we're like Arch Enemy or Pantera but tell us what you think by leaving us a comment!!! Ascension use Jackson Guitars,ESP Guitars,BC Rich Guitars,Sinister Strings,Marshall Amplification,Zyldgian symbols,Pearl Drumkit and Boss Pedals.

Irish Music Promotion
Irish Bands was set up to promote Irish Music to the world. Unsigned Irish Music gains very little exposure both in Ireland and worldwide due to the lack of media channels here and little interest from abroad. This is why young Irish musicians find it a constant struggle to get anywhere in the music business. The internet, as a growing, developing network of information is the best way to get Irish artists and Irish Music out to the world.

Irish Bands has been trying to expose Irish Music to the world since early 2004. We have found it hard to expose Irish Music as there is little interest in Irish Music on a world wide scale, but there is interest. We have to compete in the larger scale of world music and this has been difficult, yet our visitor traffic has been doubling every year. We hope that, through this site, Irish Music will soon get the exposure it deserves.
